The California Attorney General's Office has filed suit against Gallo Glass Company -- which provides all of the bottles for E & J Gallo wines as well as other companies -- for allegedly using hazardous waste in the manufacturing of glass wine bottles at its Modesto plant. The complaint, filed on behalf of the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), alleges that Gallo illegally recycled dust containing lead, arsenic, cadmium and selenium into the manufacturing process of new wine bottles.
