Dear Client: At the turn of this century, beer's share of total alcohol in the U.S. stood at 58%. Today, nearly two decades later, beer's share sits at 47.4%. We're not sure which is more incredible: the fact that beer fallen that far or that beer was once that big. Regardless, it appears that the discrepancy between where beer once was and where it is heading will only get wider. A recent note from Credit Suisse analyst Kaumil Gajrawala says
