NielsenIQ: Off-Premise Trends Showing Improvement this Summer

Dear Client: The latest scan data is in from NielsenIQ, and spirits trends accelerated during the latest four-week period ended June 17. Indeed, spirits sales were up 6% and volumes were up nearly 10% in NielsenIQ-measured off-premise channels. The usual suspects continued to grow, with tequila sales up 7% and volumes up 4.2%, and prepared cocktails up 42.5% in sales and up nearly 46% in volumes.  Overall whiskey sales were up 2.8% and volumes were flattish (down 0.2%).
