Judge (Mostly) Sides with Indiana, Upholding Retailer Shipping Statutes

Dear Client: A number of states are currently grappling with the retailer shipping issue, legislatively and through the court system. So far this year, out-of-state retailers aren't faring well in their respective cases [see WSD 02-19-2021]. The latest? Illinois-based The Chicago Wine Company's lawsuit against Indiana's shipping statutes.  BACKGROUND. Illinois-based The Chicago Wine Company filed suit in Indiana in mid-2019, challenging state regulations that allow in-state retailers to ship wine directly to consumers while prohibiting out-of-state retailers from doing so.
