Dear Client:We hear strong rumblings in the New York market post Small Brewers bill. Recall that Shipyard just changed from S.K.I. to Manhattan Beer Distributors. A lot more would apparently like to move. But unsurprisingly, suppliers are facing headwinds from ambiguity in the law. Recall that the Small Brewers Bill supposedly allows brewers producing less than 300,000 barrels and at less than 3% of their distributor's annual brand sales to terminate wholesaler contracts for fair market value in New York.
