Dear Client:Earlier this week we caught up with Bill Manley, new director of brand development at Minneapolis-based Surly Brewing Co, one of craft's fast-growing, large regional players. If that name sounds familiar it's probably because Bill came directly from Sierra Nevada, where he spent 10 years, doing everything everything from marketing to product development. Bill shared that Surly did just shy of 100,000 barrels last year. In fact they brewed about 100,000, but only shipped 92,000. They were up 21%
