Dear Client: Late last year, Congress passed spending bills to reopen the government after a record-breaking shutdown. That legislation also included language restricting the definition of legal hemp to containing no more than 0.4mg of THC, effective November 2026. Yesterday Rep. Jim Baird introduced legislation that would provide a two-year extension on the recently-passed hemp provision. House Oversight and Accountability chair James Comer, House Agriculture committee Ranking Member Angie Craig, Congressman Tim Moore and Congressman Gabe Evans co-signed the bill.
