This is big news. You will no doubt recall that the state of New York, in addition to insane changes in their bottle bill, also has as part of that legislation a requirement that beer suppliers would have to have New York-specific UPC codes on all bottles and cans entering the state, effective in June. The bill, signed into law last week by Gov. Paterson, is called the "Bigger, Better Bottle Bill," though some are calling it a big boondoggle.
