Why Didn’t Constellation Sell its Entire W&S Portfolio?

Dear Client: Following the recent divestiture of a large segment of their wine business to The Wine Group [see WSD 04-09-2025], Constellation Brands offered up a couple of their executive leaders to speak more about their business at this morning's Goldman Sachs Global Staples Forum.  Given that the presentation's participants included cfo Garth Hankinson and evp and president, beer division, Jim Sabia, the conversation was beer-heavy, but Garth did provide some further insight into the wine and spirits side.  WHY
