Dear Client: Last week Washington state lawmakers passed legislation that opens the door for interstate cannabis sales, that is, if certain federal conditions are met. The bill now heads to the governor's desk. More specifically, the bill gives the governor the authority to enter into interstate commerce agreements for cannabis sales if: 1) a federal law changes "to allow for the interstate transfer of cannabis"; or 2) if the US Department of Justice issues an opinion "allowing or tolerating"
