US and France Call a Truce, Staving Off Latest Tariffs

Dear Client: Well that was fast. Yesterday, we reported that France was ready to come to the negotiation table to hash out details over the digital tax and the resulting retaliatory tariffs. Last night, President Trump and President Emmanuel Macron both agreed to not impose any punitive tariffs this year. In July, France's digital services tax was approved. The Trump Administration claims the tax discriminates against US companies including Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon, following an investigation into the French tax. As
