“To Kalon” Trademark Back in the Spotlight

Dear Client:To Kalon is one of the preeminent Napa Valley vineyards, and it has a very contentious trademark history. Now another vintner has come out of the woodwork to lay claim to the name. BACKGROUND. To Kalon was established in Oakville in Napa Valley in the late 19th century by pioneer winemaker Hamilton Walker Crabb. About six different owners lay claim to sections of the 678-acre parcel, the two most notable being winemaker Andy Beckstoffer, who owns 89 acres, and
