Southern Appeals Missouri Residency Case

Dear Client: WSD has learned that Southern Wine & Spirits is continuing its fight to strike down Missouri's residency requirement. The wholesaler has appealed a Missouri district court ruling that tossed out its lawsuit attempting to overthrow the residency requirement in the state. Recall that in its initial complaint, Southern applied the same logic that was used in Granholm v. Heald by arguing that the state's residency requirement was in violation of the Commerce Clause. The judge, however, did not
