Legislative Round-Up on DTC Shipping

Dear Client:MASSACHUSETTS: After direct-shipping advocates won the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals decision in Family Winemakers v. Jenkins, they're now looking to overthrow other barriers that hamper wineries from shipping to Massachusetts consumers, most notably the fleet licensing issue, according to Free the Grapes. Recall that Fed-Ex and UPS won't ship wine to Massachusetts because of a law that requires carriers to obtain a permit for each of their delivery trucks. The Wine Institute is working on House Bill 317
