GEORGIA VOTES ON COMPROMISE BILL

Two direct wine shipment bills are passing through Georgia, potentially this week, to receive a vote from the House. Currently, consumers can order wine only from wineries not connected to a wholesaler, and even then the winery is only able to ship 50 cases a year. Everyone else is limited to sending five cases a year to consumers after making a face-to-face sale at the winery.The bill supported by the Wine Institute, HB 159, would require in- and out-of-state wineries
