Diageo Files Countersuit in Diddy Dispute, Alleges Misappropriation of Funds

Dear Client: The plot thickens in the ongoing legal dispute between music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs and Diageo. Late last week, Diageo filed a countersuit, claiming Sean and his companies misappropriated funds intended to support DeLeon tequila.  BACKGROUND. Recall, Sean filed a lawsuit against Diageo earlier this summer, alleging that the company did not support brands backed by the artist, particularly DeLeon Tequila, in a similar manner to other brands in its portfolio, leading to poor performance [see WSD 06-01-2023].
