B-F Chief Talks Cost Pressures, Pricing, & Category Trends

Dear Client: Brown-Forman chief Lawson Whiting took the stage this morning at the UBS Global Consumer & Retail Conference, sharing his views on whiskey and tequila trends, cost pressures, pricing, and more.  ON CUTTING COSTS. Like many big suppliers, B-F has implemented several cost-cutting measures in recent years, particularly on wood costs.  Lawson noted that when bev alc growth spiked during COVID so too did costs. "We're feeling the impact of the cost from that window of time….And so we
