April Numbers Worth Knowing

For the first time in years, beverage alcohol sales off-premise grew slower (2.4%) than the larger food and beverage category (3.9%) during the 12 month period to April, according to a BW166 report.Fear not, alcohol is still in growth mode, bringing in just over $136 billion to the off-premise channel during the period. All three categories contributed to sales growth: beer grew 2.2% (an increase of $1.4 billion), wine grew 2.4% (an increase of $958 million) and spirits grew 2.7%
