Another Potential Bidder Emerges for Louis Royer

Philippine drinks firm Emperador may have some competition in the bid to acquire cognac maker Louis Royer. Reuters reports that Thai billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi's firm Thai Beverage PCL., is also considering a play for the brand. You'll recall, Emperador said it had submitted a bid for the cognac maker last week. Louis Royer is owned by Japan's Suntory Holdings and is the smallest of the global cognac makers with $57 million in annual sales. It is valued at $150 million
