$9-$15 Wines Drive Growth in Q1

In light of improving macro conditions in the US market, the race to the high-end of the wine category was going strong during the first quarter of 2015. Wines priced above $9 -- which roughly represents about one-fourth of wine sold off-premise -- gained nearly 3 full dollar share points in all Nielsen-measured channels for the 13 weeks to March 28. Wines in the $9-$12 price segments and $12-$15 segment continue to gobble up share as a flood of industry
