West VA Bill Gives Commissioner Power to Deny Franchise Agreements

March 12, 2014Dear Client: House Bill 4549, giving the local Alcohol Beverage Control Commissioner more power "to investigate, review and approve or deny franchise agreements, labels, brands and line extensions," has passed the House and Senate in West Virginia. The bill would also take take certain pricing language from 30 days to 90 days, among other things. As such it has reportedly been unpopular with suppliers large and small.
