Ohio Branch Bill Becomes Law

Dear Client:Ohio Gov. John Kasich earlier this week signed into law the bill which restricts expansion of brewery-owned branches, despite A-B's and MillerCoors' opposition to the bill. The bill also reduced the licensure and permitting costs to craft brewers by almost 75 percent. The bill grandfathers in the A-B branch facility in Canton, Ohio. A-B also operates a brewery in Ohio, as does MillerCoors.A-B says it remains "concerned about the manner in which this anti free market legislation was introduced
