Dear Client:Although we are heading into Memorial Day with weak volumes (see below), pricing seems to be holding up except in certain pockets. "Memorial Day beer pricing revealed a continued rational industry with pricing up low to mid single digits for Memorial Day vs. year ago," writes Bill Pecoriello of ConsumerEdge Research. "Within premium beer, pricing was up low-mid-single digits with relative pricing to Bud Light largely stable v 2009" and sub-premium pricing is up about a buck a case.
