Kroger-Southern Plan Could Spread to Other Retailers

Dear Client: The controversial Southern - Kroger category management program has hit the mainstream press. (see BBD 11-16-2015)The Wall Street Journal reported on Kroger's proposed scheme. While there weren't many new details, there were a few little nuggets of new information in the article. OTHER RETAILERS? For one thing, Southern Wine & Spirits has indicated that other retailers have called them and inquired about the program, and may even be included in the system. That can't make brewers or distributors
