Imports Strong in January

Following a strong December, imported beer shipments posted another good month, up 11.3% in January or nearly 200k barrels, according to Lester Jones at the Beer Institute. Virtually all of the gaines were due to Mexican imports, which were up 31%, and Germany, up 6.7%; partially offset by loses coming from the Netherlands down 2.1%, Belgium down 6.8%, and Canada down 14.1%
