Crown Makes its Case for Cinco

While Crown volumes have been slow and there's been some chatter of more aggressive pricing, Crown chief Bill Hackett and exec vp Bruce Jacobson are saying they are seeing some early signs for momentum going into Cinco de Mayo, with increased TV spending, more ad and display execution, and the entire Crown executive suite going out into the trade across the country But what about pricing? Recall that earlier this month, Constellation chief Rob Sands had said in a conference call that Crown is initiating "a number of new promotional activities targeted to key locations around the U.S." We wrote at the time, "Uh oh. Promotional activities? That sounds like discounting."
