Craft Pricing Way Up, Growth Slows in 2008
Not a surprise as we already knew the number, but it's official. The Brewers Association reports that 2008 indy craft beer sales were up an estimated 5.8% in volume and up 10.5% in dollars, indicating that crafts took a pretty hefty price increase in 2008 and it showed in slowing volume (volume up 12% in 2007). Craft still beat the beer category hands down, and is the fastest segment of the alcohol beverage industry.
