Costco Ups the Ante in Washington

This is starting to get ridiculous. In a bold and expensive bid to deregulate and privatize the Washington State control state system, Costco contributed another $3 million in cash this week, bringing its total contributions to $11.2 million, which is the vast bulk of the money donated to push ballot initiative I-1183. That initiative would privatize the state's 328 liquor stores, vastly increase the number of outlets selling liquor, allow for quantity discounts and central warehousing, and allow for retailers to buy liquor direct from distillers
