Smuttynose Seeks Buyer; Auction Scheduled for March 9

Dear Client:Today, New Hampshire's largest craft beer producer, Smuttynose -- who in recent years completed an $18 million expansion effort -- announced it would seek a new owner/partner via auction (or, presumably, before). "Smutty," as it's commonly known, is scheduled to be sold at bank auction March 9. The almost 30-year-old brewer said it employs 68 people and generates more than $10 million in revenue a year.We last spoke to owner Peter Egelston in October, upon rumors of sizable layoffs.
