Oregon Settles DTC, Self-Distribution Suit With WA Brewers; Leg Considers New Law

Dear Client:  The state of Oregon will now allow brewers from its northern neighbor to self-distribute in the state, after settling a lawsuit brought by a trio of Washington state craft brewers over direct-to-consumer laws. Recall, brewers Garden Path Fermentation, Fortis Brewing Company AKA Fortside Brewing and Mirage Beer sued Oregon State Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum and the commissioners of the Oregon Liquor & Cannabis Commission last summer claiming Oregon’s direct-to-consumer and self-distribution laws discriminate against out-of-state brewers [see BBD
