More On the Founders/Mahou Stake in Avery: Yes, They’re Looking at More Brands

Dear Client: Yesterday we reported that Spanish brewer Mahou San Miguel and Michigan’s Founders Brewing Company are "coming on together as 70% majority investors and long-term strategic partners" in Colorado's Avery Brewing Company. We got Founders co-founder Mike Stevens on the horn this morning to ask more about the strategy behind their stake. We wondered if Founders' partnership with Mahou represented the start of a potential collective, which have sprung up the past few years (CANarchy, Artisanal Brewing Ventures, etc.)
