Mahou Taking 90% Stake in Founders Brewing

Dear Client: Big news coming out of Michigan this afternoon. Founders Brewing is selling a majority stake to its Spanish brewing partner, Mahou San Miguel, per MiBiz report. Mahou, which acquired a 30% stake in the Grand Rapids-based company at the end of 2014, will up its stake to 90% (via Spain’s Best Beer Inc. affiliate), according to filings with the Michigan Liquor Control Commission obtained by MiBiz. Founders co-founders Mike Stevens and Dave Engbers will split the remaining 10%
