German Brewer Plans to Put a 500,000-Barrel Plant in Charlotte

Dear Client: A centuries-old German brewery, Gilde, is coming to America with some ambitious plans. How ambitious? Gilde told the Charlotte-Observer this morning that they're planning to build a 100,000-square-foot production brewery in Charlotte with 500,000 barrels worth of capacity.  NEVER HEARD OF GILDE? Here's some quick background: Gilde is a brewery based in Hanover, Germany that dates back to 1546. The brewery was acquired by Interbrew in the early 2000s, and as Interbrew turned into InBev and later Anheuser-Busch
