Diageo Closing its Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore

Dear Client: Despite Guinness’ continued growth in the U.S., Diageo is announcing the “difficult decision” to close the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore –  its consumer-facing facility/pub.  (Recall that Diageo actually closed its manufacturing facility in Baltimore County/Relay, MD back in 2023, but the Open Gate Brewery taproom/restaurant was untouched.)  The facility’s last open-to-the-public day will be November 1, and the site will fully wind down operations around the end of the calendar year.
