Craft Up 6% in 2016

Dear Client:The Brewers Association just released 2016 data on U.S. craft brewing growth. Amid 5,301 breweries in operation last year, the 5,234 BA-defined craft brewers produced almost 25 million barrels.That cohort saw a 6% bump in volume on a comparable base (it had been up 13% the prior year). Craft brewers now represent 12.3% market share by volume of the overall beer industry.Their retail dollars were up 10% (from 16% growth in 2015), for a total value of $23.5 billion,
