Yuengling inched out over Boston Beer to become the eighth largest brewer in the US, selling 2.5 million barrels over Boston's 2.4 million. That makes Yuengling one of the top American-owned brewers in the country behind Pabst and NAB, and the top American-owned domestic producer of US beers. COO Dave Casinelli told BBD that "while it's nice" to inch ahead of Boston Beer, "honestly they're not really our competitors."
