Was Everyone at the Liquor Store for Labor Day?

Dear Client: Well, the prelim results for Labor Day are in -- at least, the one week period ended 9/4 (where of course Labor Day Monday was Sept. 5). Bev alc was up 2.7% for the week vs. prior year, while beer slightly outpaced, up 3% (in dollars, as are all these figures). Spirits blew that away, up 6.8% for the week. So where we were hearing some retailers talk about soft traffic for beer... maybe liquor stores were getting
