Dear Client: Turns out, beer doesn’t have to step outside of “beer” to find growth in flavor. Indeed, a new analysis from Bump Williams Consulting shows traditional flavor-centric beer is a sizable (a $1.7 billion business YTD) and growing avenue (dollars up 4.4% or +$73 million versus YA) in an otherwise soft category (traditional beer is down 2.9% overall and -3.3% excluding flavor-centric beer). In fact, it’s outperforming some of the flavorful beer-adjacent categories, like cider (+3.8%), malt-based seltzer (-5.4%)
