The Great Freight Debate’s Fate

I did not anticipate the flood of angry emails from distributors when I asked a benign question about freight expenses last week.BBD logged responses from over 160 distributors from all flavors and geographies that have experienced anywhere from a nickel to over a buck a case in EXTRA freight costs over the last two years. Some of that comes from the extra "fuel surcharges" that brewers are charging distributors, some of that just comes from increases the brewer passes along
