The Age of Comparison Ads

Now that Miller has gone back to comparison ads, comparing Lite to Bud Light, Heineken Premium Light, and margaritas and wine, other beverage giants are taking note. Diet Pepsi is now running similar ads declaring that 56% of consumer say Diet Pepsi has "more cola taste", mirroring Miller Lite's claim of having "more taste". Other mega-brands are also utilizing a similar marketing tactic: Pizza Hut, Apple and Subway, to name a few. Why the revival of comparison advertising?Ad Age quotes
