SunnyD Maker Goes for $1.5 Billion to Famosa Beer Parent: What Could it Mean for Bev Alc?

Dear Client: In a move to “meaningfully expand” its reach in the U.S., Guatemalan conglomerate Castillo Hermanos announced yesterday that it has entered into “a definitive agreement” to purchase Harvest Hill Beverage Company from PE firm Brynwood Partners.  And though headlines of the reported $1.5 billion deal revolve around the "kiddie" drinks in Harvest Hill’s portfolio, like SunnyD, Juicy Juice and Little HUG, note that there are potentially big bev alc implications here.
