Senate Embraces Tax Equalization

As we reported last week, a group of fun bunchers ascended Capitol Hill and recommended, among other terrible ideas, the equalization of excise taxes on beer, wine, and spirits. Of course, beer and wine take issue with this notion, as it would nearly triple the tax on those beverages of moderation while only nominally increasing the tax on spirits.
