Scout Chief on their JV with Columbia, The Cali Market, and More

Dear Client: Scout Distribution is just under five years old but it already operates across three states (California, Arizona and Idaho), with 250 employees. The company will do just under 2 million cases this year.  A specialty beer/bev alc distributor that overindexes toward the on-premise, Scout had an eventful 2022. It struck a JV with top bev alc wholesaler, Columbia, to enter Idaho, testing a new model where Scout’s hand-selling met Columbia’s economies of scale. Shortly after, Scout dove into
