It would seem to make sense that you should assign merchandising labor according to account volume. While it makes sense, rarely does this method work in practice. The fact of the matter is that merchandising time is much more influenced by two other factors: the space you control in the store, and how many SKUs you have in the store. Store layout, and more importantly the distance from back room to cold box and displays, is also a big factor.
