HR Update: New Rules Could Increase Costs

It is estimated that common carrier freight costs could increase 10-15% this year due to the new DOT rules and skyrocketing fuel costs.But the most ominous rules change for distributors came from the DOT, and is applicable to driver-salesmen. The DOT reduced a driver's on-duty time from 15 hours to 14 hours (with drive time limited to 11 hours). To be exempt from keeping a logbook, however, a driver must leave and return to the office within 12 consecutive hours
