Heineken USA Preparing for Newcastle

Heineken USA chief Don Blaustein sent a memo to distributors which reported that while Heineken NV completes the acquisition of Scottish & Newcastle, Heineken USA expects to get the brands "no later than September 1, 2008." The jewel of that portfolio is Newcastle Brown Ale, up 6% in 52 week IRI scans, though lately that trend has slowed to about 4%.
