Eagle Brands Fights Back

Miami A-B distributor Eagle Brands has filed a counterclaim to A-B's lawsuit in U.S. District court, claiming A-B violated its own agreement with Eagle Brands to notify the latter of whether it approved its deal with Gold Coast by March 18 (30 days after receiving the intent to sell). Eagle says A-B failed to notify by that date (the bad news from Dave Peacock arrived on June 4), and therefore "that failure automatically constituted A-B's approval of the proposed sale
