After lots of maneuvering which, in hindsight, was designed to ratchet up the price, Scottish & Newcastle has accepted Heineken and Carlsberg's bid of 800 pence per share, or about $15.4 billion. S&N's board recommended to its shareholders that they accept the bid, which is expected to take 3 months to close. Carlsberg pays 54% of the purchase price, Heineken 46% based on what they get after it's split up. As planned,
