DOJ Approves AB InBev Deal; Must Divest Labatt USA

Beer Business Daily November 14, 2008**Aler** InBev got clearance from the U.S. Department of Justice to purchase Anheuser-Busch, but only if it finds a third party to import Labatt brands into the U.S., i.e. selling Labatt USA. But deal can close before such a sale is made. Labatt USA sold nearly 20 million cases last year, so it is a substantial business, particularly in the northeast, but it has been a tough business lately. The decision by the DOJ does
