Uh oh, trouble in paradise. California Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante came out strongly in favor of passing state Sen. Gloria Romero's bill calling for a nickel-a-drink fee on all alcoholic beverages (it's SB 108, for those of you tracking it). He made his comments in a press conference Wed. announcing his candidacy to the California recall drive of Gov. Gray Davis. The nickel-a-drink tax, or $1.20/case, would be collected from distributors and could strip $400 to $700 mil per year
